Advent calendars for dogs feature 24 treats, toys, or other pup-friendly item to treat them each day in December until the big day.
In this blog post, we’ll highlight the best advent calendars for dogs – and share our favorites and which ones we have on our list for big and small dogs alike!
Milk Bone 12-day Treat Calendar
Celebrate the 12 days leading up to “Woofmas” with Milk-Bone. This advent calendar features 12 treats for your dog, getting them into the holiday spirit.
Pros: Because this one only has 12 treats, it is cheaper than some of the other advent calendars out there. At the time of writing this blog post, it was under $10, which is a great deal for advent calendars for dogs.
Cons: Well, it’s only 12 days! And advent calendars are supposed to be for 24 days. So, if you aren’t a traditionalist when it comes to advent calendars, this may be the one for you. Otherwise, keep looking!

BarkBox Advent Calendar
We are a big fan of BarkBox over here! It’s such a fun monthly subscription box for your dogs, and this advent calendar carries through the quality that we’ve come to know and respect with BarkBox.
The BarkBox Advent Calendar features 16 toys and eight treats – so 24 days of fun for your pup! We really like that it mixes it up so that your dog gets a surprise of whether it’s a toy or a treat each day.
Pros: Enjoy 24 days of treats and toys for your pup for a true advent calendar experience. The mix of both treats and toys makes it fun for you and your dog.
Cons: It’s a little bit pricier than what you find with other advent calendars for dogs; but you know you get what you pay for, so keep that in mind.

Best Bully Sticks Treat Gift Box for Dogs – 24 Days of Joy Variety Pack
If you have a dog that loves bully sticks, this is the advent calendar for them! The 24 Days of Joy Variety Pack is a fun advent calendar that brings together different samples of bully sticks for you dog.
While you are getting a bully stick each day, the size of the bully stick can be small for some dogs. In reviews, owners commented that this would give them pause because they were concerned about their dog choking. Some reviewers complained that the treats were low quality, and it seemed like they just cut up one bully stick into 24 pieces.
Pros: What dog doesn’t love bully sticks? This is a great way to give them the treats they love!
Cons: People complained about the treats being too small and some issues with quality.

Dr. Seuss How the Grinch Stole Christmas Advent Calendar for Dogs
What’s the holiday season without Dr. Seuss’ Grinch? This is a super fun advent calendar for dogs, featuring 12 toys for your dog inspired by the Grinch himself.
Since this is an official Grinch product, it is priced a bit higher than what you would see for an unbranded advent calendar with a similar number of products. But, the products are super cute and fun for a holiday twist of toys for your dogs.
Pros: Great branding and cute toys!
Cons: Priced on the higher end (over $40 at the time of this writing). It also looks to be a new product, so there aren’t any reviews – it’s not clear the quality or what to expect with this product outside of the provided pictures.

Trader Joe’s Advent Calendar for Dogs
We LOVE the Trader Joe’s Advent Calendar for Dogs. They also have a version for cats – which include a lot of little treats for your kitty, which is the best! Plus, priced at $7.99, it’s a great low-cost option to add your pets to building holiday spirit.
Pros: Super affordable and just enough to include your pup (or cat!) in building holiday spirit. Let’s face it, they probably don’t need a big treat or toy every day – so this is perfect if you just want them included!
Cons: They sell out really fast – this makes it hard to track down the Trader Joe’s Advent Calendar for Dogs.

And, there’s always the option of creating your own advent calendars for dogs by using the treats and toys that you already have. Building your own advent calendar can be super fun, and a good way to make it into a family activity. Because we know our dogs – they will love anything we share with them, even if it’s just an extra hug or kiss every day.
